Thanksgiving celebration has become a symbol of cooperation and interaction between English colonists and Native Americans. It was actually first observe to keep a long tradition of celebrating the harvest and giving thanks for a successful bounty of crops. This is also to commemorate the ceremonies of thanks among European settlers in North America, including British colonists in Berkeley Plantation, Virginia. Near the Charles River in December of 1619, a group of British settlers led by Captain John Woodlief knelt in prayer and pledged "Thanksgiving" to God for their healthy arrival after a long voyage across the Atlantic.
The tradition have been long foretold but sometimes we only care the need of Turkey for Thanksgiving dinner. I consider the celebration not just a mere feast for family crowded the dinner table but to celebrate the goodness of the Lord for sustaining us all year round with His bounteous blessings. We have to develop in our hearts the feeling of gratitude and the spirit of thanksgiving. Isn’t that a wonderful thought to live in thanksgiving daily? Count your every blessings and for all of us Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy thanksgivin, WHITEshadow.
Too bad in my country we don't have this kind of good custom.
However, I agree with you about the gratitude and spirit of thanksgiving. We should always have it in each moment of our life. That way, we could always "Happy thanksgiving" everyday (without a turkey of course, otherwise we could eliminate its existence in this world :P)
Psalm 111: Praise the LORD. I will extol the LORD with all my heart in the council of the upright and in the assembly. Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever— holy and awesome is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
You got that right! I do need to work on being thankfull every day. Family alone is a wonderfull reason to give thanks each and every minute.
God Bless!
That is something commendable about Americans and all those who celebrate Thanksgiving Day. It is a day when we acknowledge the divine providence of God over His creation. Thanks for the post. God bless.
Hi Eve: Thanks for visiting my blog and for the compliments. You are very much welcome to share your opinion.
Dear Aldhis: That's okay even if your country don't have a custom of celebrating the Thanksgiving, I believe we can celebrate it any time we want with our family, everyday as you wish. Though, in the US, we celebrate it in last Thursday of November, but I think it really doesn't matter when and where you want to celebrate it especially if it brings family together and recognize His blessings. That is the spirit of Thanksgiving.
Hi Anders: Truly God is gracious and compassionate and the source of we have and see and everything that are yet to come. HE is faithful to His promises. And I love this last part "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow His precepts have good understanding. To Him belongs eternal praise." Thanks for letting me feel of your testimony.
Dear Scott McQueen: I think everybody does sometimes we forgot to be grateful of small things, but it's nice to know that we recognize our family as something to be thankful of.
Hi Mel: Thanks for the visit. Yeah, there are lots of American traditions that are really praiseworthy and for having a big heart. And I am grateful to be here.
