Our Body is a Temple of God

The trend of new generation seems to go off beyond the limit of what we called modesty. Young men and women are often dummies of this fashion evolution. The sense of respect to our body are set aside wanting to be 'in' in the new world of trends and fashions. Don't we know that in us lives our spirit and dwell the Holy Spirit? Why allow the world to clothe us as a dummy if we have a higher standard than that of a mannequin? I believe in modesty as one way of portraying oneself to gain respect from other people. If you try to reveal private parts of your body, what do you think is the message you are trying to imply to those who sees it?

Even tattoos and body piercings seemed to be a part of social trends and so is the alcoholism, drugs addiction, and everything that destroy our body as a creation of God. "Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God dwelleth in you? If any man defile the temple of God, him shall God destroy; for the temple of God is holy, which temple ye are (1Cor 3:16-17).

I agree with your post. I often ask myself how can people pose nude and don't have any problems with how they are perceived by people, but most importantly by God? I ask myself who are these people that like to show-off their bodies? I am not judging them, I just can't put myself in their shoes. Just thinking about it gives me goosebumps all over my sexy body! Sheesh.....

I love fashion and art,and I'm always amazed in it's own beauty and attributes. But never come to my mind that tattoos and body piercing as part of art even nude pictures. I believe that we have to reserve ourselves just for our husbands/wives and not for publicity. The only reason why this things evolve is because people patronize them. Now it looks normal as you can see them everywhere. That's the reason why pornography are better protected than those people on the streets.

This reminds me of 1 Peter 3:3-4_"Do not let your adormnent be merely outward-arranging the hair, wearing gold, or putting on fine apparel-rather let it be the hidden person of the heart, with the incorruptible beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is precious in the sight of God."

I love the Word of God! There's so much truth and wisdom. WhiteShadow, you must read your Bible often, because I agree with so much of who you are.

Blessings...and smiles:-)

Yes, our body is a temple of God. It's not bad to sealed it with nice clothes, as long as giving cares to "our temple" too. The "temple" will be shine if its soul is blessed

Dear Tikno,
Thanks for reaffirmation that our body is a temple of God, it is clearly found in the scripture but we are giving less value about ourselves and so with our Maker.

Keep the Faith!!!!
